Cleaning Up

I don’t know about you, but over the past few weeks I have been experiencing some very intense energies.  This experience has felt as if I was putting my spiritual self into one of those old style washing machines that came with a wringer to squeeze out any left over water.  When I was a little girl, I was fascinated watching my mother washing and working the clothes through one of these machines.  It was a bit of an intimidating machine because I remember always being told to be careful to not get too close to the wringer because it could (and would) take your hand and arm right on into it.  My childhood friend Barry didn’t pay attention to what his mother told him and ended up with a cast on his arm for a long time.

If we think of our spiritual self like a blanket, consider your blanket having just been placed into the old style clothes washing machine and now going through the squeeze-wringer.  So, in goes your spiritual blanket for a good washing and wringing out, and then placed on the line to relax and dry in the sunshine for a while.

What did you do while your blanket was in the wash?  It was an opportunity to take a good inner look at ourselves; some people chose to manifest an illness or an injury to ensure that they had down time, while others chose to utilize the time for self enquiry and inner reflection.

What seemed to be a prevalent experience was that just when our spiritual blanket was nice and dry and ready to come inside from being on the line to dry, the weather suddenly changed and a storm came up and gave it a good soaking again.

Ah, so then your spiritual blanket had to literally drip dry (but not to worry because your blanket wasn’t the only blanket on the line – you and many other souls had their blankets washed, wrung out, dried, re-soaked and re-dried).

These intense energies have been about letting go of what no longer serves us (washing out those stains and spots on our blanket).  Most of the spots were about our conditioning to fit in, to find “normal” and to be accepted by the world outside of us. The truth of the matter is, we need to love and accept ourselves first, from freckles to farts; all parts of us are important and needed.  The necessity to get our spiritual blanket cleaned up is getting more and more important (winter is coming, so you might as well wrap yourself up in a sparkling clean blanket of pure magnificence – you are worthy!)

We are in a time of truth and coming clean, so ready or not, here it comes!  Changes and shifts in consciousness are now beginning to accelerate.  Releasing the stressful search for perfection and embracing the perfection that we already are is a big part of our spiritual blanket washing.

The media has been reminding us to come clean by regularly telling us about a mayor being placed under scrutiny with his spiritual blanket for everyone to see.  He has apparently been filmed admitting to be willing to do it in his underwear …  that sure took a lot of courage, and I don’t think this was his conscious choice, but rather his blanket coming out for a good revealing and cleaning!  Most of us are fortunate enough to not have our activities placed in view of millions of people.

There seems to have been an intensity to these energies, a sense of hurriedness to get any and all spots out of our spiritual blankets.  In getting them cleaned up, we have learned that letting go is also a big part of the learning process, and sometimes not necessarily something we were ready for on a conscious level, but it was unavoidable none-the-less.  Don’t be afraid to let go and to keep letting go – after all, you don’t want a stained blanket around you.

This cleaning up process is part of our spiritual self-care; it is not a luxury, rather it is part our inevitable soul growth, allowing our wellbeing on all levels to shine.

The other day while I was waiting for my spiritual blanket to finish drying I came across this timely quote: “Each time a person awakens to universal truth, the whole of humanity rises in resonance.  The higher humanity evolves as a collective soul, the more important it is to make sure that every aspect is in alignment.”

My spiritual blanket is cleaned up and I am snuggled back in (for now)!

Leaving you with peace, love, understanding, awareness and wisdom (and of course, big hugs and butterfly kisses).

“Enlightenment is a destructive process. It has nothing to do with becoming better or being happier. Enlightenment is the crumbling away of untruth. It’s seeing through the facade of pretense.  It’s the complete eradication of everything we imagined to be true.”  – Adyashanti”
