Life in the Castle

You know, when I shift, I do it well, and, I say this because shift’s been happening!

Last week, the city that I live in decided that we needed to have updated roadside curbs, yes, you read this right, curbs.

Someone, somewhere, deemed our curbs a menace to society.

We were given notice that this would be forthcoming, but nothing too definite, so I just let the whole thing fly on past my memory banks.

Until, one morning, very early, while I was lying in bed drifting amongst the clouds in the castles of my dreams, I heard “Ding-Dong, Ding-Dong, Ringa-Dinga-Ding-Dong.”

I jumped into my finest bathrobe as I figured first thing in the early morning hours wasn’t a good time to frighten anyone who is ringing my doorbell.

Down the stairs I went and opened the door, and there he was, a knight in not-so-shining armour (okay, he had a hard-hat and matching reflective vest on) and he Mafia-spoke to me in a deep raspy voice saying, “Mammmm, are youuuuaah gonnaah mooovaah youraah car because werrraah a workin’ herrraah now andaah we gottaah jobaah to do”. I said, “Thanks for the warning, I’ll get my horse out of the stable and let the games begin.”   He just kind of stood there for a moment and then shook his head.

And, that is when this little adventure turned into a Medieval times theme. I started texting my son who lives in another city to have a bit of fun with this, and this is how our messages unfolded:

Me: They’re Here!

Him: Who?

Me: You know, the road rippers.

Him: You okay?

Me: So far, I’m staying in the castle so they can’t get me.

Him: Mom????

Me: Don’t worry Sweetheart, I will never surrender. I can hear them trying to gather up their thunder machines. They think I can’t hear or see them, but I can.

Him: Do you need me to help you with something?

Me: Not yet, stay hidden with your reinforcement clan, this could get messy.

Him: Mom, what’s going on????

Me: It’s okay now, they’ve retreated, and I’ve seen them eating pizza, but I know they’re planning to continue the attack later. They’ve left markings everywhere!

Him: Ummmm ….

Me: They made a moat now; I’ll get the hose and fill it with water so the gators can swim there.

Him: Whaaaaat????

Me: I’ll get your toy drone out that you left here and fly it over their troops to see where they’re going next.

Him: Nooooooo, the last time you tried to fly it you crashed it in the neighbour’s pool (sad face icon)

Me: Pffffttt, details …

Him: What’s going on over there? The whole office here is worried about you!

Me: Great, now they all think I’m crazy.

Him: Well, you know …

Me: Never mind, I’ve got a good escape plan now, they put a drawbridge over my moat so that I can leave the castle. You don’t mind that I wear your Harry Potter cloak that you left here?

Him: Mom, that’s my spare Lawyer’s robe, and it’s called a gown.

Me: Well that’ll do just fine – it’s a one size fits all right? I can fit at least a few of me into it!

Him: Mom, seriously, you’re making me crazier than you!

Me: Heh Heh

Him: Is your road being repaired?

Me: Yup, you da best!

Him: We had an office pool betting on what was going on hahaha I won!

Me: Let’s split the winnings at least!

Remember that every time you find humour in a difficult situation, you win.

Anyhow, all that aside, we are primed for some significant energetic shifts to come through over the next few weeks, so be okay with whatever comes your way. Now, by being okay, I simply mean to stay clear, focused, grounded and centered, and do not get caught up in absorbing what takes place around you, rather, observe with non-attachment.

Everyone is on a path of higher learning, whether they recognize this or not. Some of us will have to become very proficient in embodying unconscious behaviours before we can wake up and realize that we were staring in our own shift-show.

If you are feeling the energetic turmoil of others, remember to become aware of your breathing. When you consciously slow your breathing pattern, then you are no longer a vibrational match to the energetic chaos and turbulent noise that is around you.

Being in your energetic space and not merging into the energetic waves of others is critical for you to be aware of so that you can continue to hold the light of awareness and shine it upon the path of the unknown.

Practice the understanding of the non-permanence of life, and, remember that holding on is the opposite of freedom, and you are a free Being.

If you are curious, you learn. But when you are desperate, you discover. Sometimes life has to push you against the wall and separate you from all escape routes in order for you to be confronted with what you have to face.

Sometimes life will shake you up to wake you up, and how you choose to awaken will be up to you.

Love this, Theresa. You had me in stitches! I so resonate with this energy shift. Everything around me is telling me to stop and be still. XO

Love your humour. I am sure people around me in the GO train thought I was crazy as I laughed out loud as I was caught up in your blog. A good reminder for me to be in my own energy space and not to ride on the vibration of the turmoil around me lately. Hard to step out of it all and connect with my own rhythm. I will keep your words of wisdom in mind and remind myself to connect to my breath. As always thank you for sharing.
