New Beginnings

Well, I’m back, not that I went anywhere, but I did feel a need to pause, re-set and re-create some space for myself while becoming more of an observer. In doing so, I was able to consciously witness the ever-changing life and landscapes around me.

Life seems to be very different now like we’ve come through some kind of cosmic gauntlet or fire-walk. Many times I would feel fairly out of sync with the world, “just not there,” or as I would most often here the inner words “I’m in another world right now.”

I needed time and space to observe, reset and review and I also realized I had gotten soul-tired, and, needed to rest.

Yesterday I was messaging with a fellow earth traveler who has walked the path of awakening with me. In our messaging I wished her a wonderful new year that will be filled with new beginnings, new experiences, new ways of passionately living and most of all, new ways of being of service to others.

Every day and every moment is a choice to awaken to your truth versus the truth that was given to you. All Beings can change their lives at any time, not having to wait for a particular date on a calendar; our power is always held at this very moment, never the past or the future. You are free from your past ~ let your past be integrated into life lessons, and know that there are times when you must choose between turning the page and closing the book.

I never really correlated New Year’s day with anything more than a date on the calendar, an opportunity to call friends and family and say “Happy New Year,” and a sense of relief that the old was completed and the new was beginning.

Anyhow, back to my messaging with my friend; when I messaged her with the usual “Happy New Years” she replied, “you mean “Happy Janus.” And then I remembered that the month of January is named after the Roman Deity “Janus.”

Janus (and my autocorrect wants to keep switching this to January – ha!), is the patron of new beginnings, gateways of transitions and passageways into the new and yet to be experienced and assimilated. In ancient Roman times, Janus wasn’t just celebrated or honoured at the beginning of a new year; rather, Janus was thought of and called upon as the Deity of new intentions. Janus marked the beginning of new experiences, (and in Roman times that usually meant a waging a war of some kind), new business ventures and innovative ideas, and anything original that was getting ready to be initiated on a personal level.

What I Love about Janus is that every day (and moment) is an opportunity to celebrate new beginnings and new adventures, not just the first day of the calendar year. There’s no good time or bad time to start the new other than right now. It’s always now, all ways. Every moment is an opportunity to begin your personal journey of transformation, of letting go of what no longer serves you, opening up to change, awakening, calling in grace, gratitude, Janus and embracing your truth.

We are collectively undergoing a transformation process as the new energies that are coming through are bringing truth to the surface. Some of the truths that will be revealed will be obvious for those who have done their inner-work of self-enquiry and home-work of questioning “truths”, and for others, the truths that will be revealed will be a surprise and a shock. Think of the truths that will be revealed as being like the toothpaste being out of the tube – you can’t get it back in once it’s out.

Stay mindful and compassionate when relating with others, as every relationship, regardless of how long or brief, is an assignment for your growth.

The veil is being lifted for those with loving eyes to see, compassionate ears to hear, and grace-filled hearts to feel. We are ready to step into the new frequencies and begin living, experiencing and Loving the times of our lives.

Shine from your heart, and, help the hearts of others to shine. May you see the potential each new Janus-day brings.

Happy Janus day today and every day!

Welcome back, you have been missed. Thank you for the lovely message and a reminder that while the beginning of a New Year seems like the most appropriate time to look at changing, letting go, cleansing etc, everyday and moment presents the same opportunity.

Thank you for your wise and gentle words. You highlighted for me the symbolism of the new year; a day to recognize new beginnings, those new beginnings that happen every day! As I continue my practice, more of my truths are revealed, what you note as “unveiling”. In those truths I see opportunities for new beginnings. Thank you for reminding us of the essence of the truth and transformation process. ❤
