Avoiding The Void

We are coming to that time and place in our journey where there is a significant shift taking place for many people.  Most will be experiencing what I call “the void”.  It happens when the long held beliefs of what we thought, were taught and are holding onto, turns out to no longer serve us as a reality that brings us joyfulness.

The shifting process is having consequences for all of us; leaving an impression of melancholy.  The missing of what used to be and perhaps sensing some apprehension for what will be.  Healing the void can be daunting, but it is inevitable; the feelings of not seeing any signposts to guide the way can at times feel overwhelming, but there is no going back now.

Stuffing the void with distractions and excessive busy activities are nothing but giant red flags waving at you for your attention – your attention to yourself and how you are honestly feeling.  Take a moment to practice your inner wisdom and sit with the void and feel it.  What you have not allowed to heal will come to the surface, asking you to explore it, accept it, embrace it and most of all, love it.

You may be thinking to yourself “Wait a minute here, I don’t want to love the feelings that are coming up, I just want them to go away!”  Well, the choice is yours, you can continue to run but you cannot continue to hide from yourself.  It is worth every heart-wrenching moment to feel your way through, filling your void with your own understanding, compassion and love.  This experience will leave you with the self-realization of joyfulness that no outside distraction can provide or duplicate.

Filling yourself with loving thoughts and happy memories of growth and transition is a good way to soothe the shifting.  Creating a little haven for yourself, a personal sanctuary, even if it means lighting a candle and sitting quietly with your thoughts, do it.  Take this time to just be, to listen to your breath and observe your thoughts without engaging in them.  Doing this kind of inner work has the power to transform at the deepest of levels, allowing you to become more of who you truly are and to live from a state of clarity, purpose and confidence.

If we pine over what used to be, we spill out our energy into a past event that cannot be changed, however, we can change our perspective.  You are never guilty for your past; you are responsible for your participation.  Consider that the past was the education, the training to get us to our present space. Then, consider that the present space is the lifting off place, taking the essence from the past lessons.

Throughout my own personal journey, I have had to release a tremendous amount of self-doubt and uncertainty that I carried with me, as all it served was to cloud my perception and hold me back from doing what I was really meant to do.  When I consciously began to release the programs and beliefs of what no longer served me I was able to fully step into my life path with greater clarity and wisdom.

In welcoming the void as an opportunity to first feel it and then fill it with Love, to really embrace the experience rather than yearning over it until life just came along and filled it in, I created a clear path for myself and inspired others.  Avoiding the void – who would’ve ever thought that embracing it would be so magnificent!  Remember that Love is the highest power of all, but can only be powerful when you completely accept and Love yourself.

Leaving you with peace, love, understanding, awareness and wisdom (and of course, big hugs and butterfly kisses).
