It’s About Time

Most of you reading this posting will have noticed that your perception that time has accelerated at a pace that you’ve never experienced before is affecting your life and how you go about getting things done (if at all). Your awareness of this is indicative that you are awakening to another level of consciousness.

This awareness is bringing you a deeper understanding of the concepts of managed time and un-managed time.

Managed time doesn’t mean that you need to rush out get yourself a project-scheduler-get-shift-done-gadget, rather, it’s staying peacefully present and focused, as this focused attention is where consciousness rests.

When you are focused in the present moment, you will always have enough time to complete whatever you are choosing to do. Being focused is also known as presence and mindfulness (naturally holding space for yourself or another).

However, when you are experiencing un-managed time, well, that’s when you will have at least 20,000 different topics, thoughts, and activities happening simultaneously. This is when the proverbial “Hooooolllllyyyyyy shift” awareness comes in!

It is natural to fluctuate between the two perspectives of time; the more aware you become of what you are doing, and, what is taking place around you, the quicker you will become proficient at recognizing when you are functioning in managed or un-managed time.

As an example, when I am in un-managed time, I can blow my house up in a matter of less than 10minutes. Now, I don’t mean that I’ve blown the house to smithereens, but it could almost look like that.

The other day, I turned the kettle on to make myself a cup of tea, and while I was waiting for it to boil, I started to empty the dishwasher when the doorbell rang, and it was a delivery from Amazon, again (whoops, did I just write that last part out loud?). I started to open my package when the timer on the dryer beeped, so I put the half opened package in the laundry room and started getting the clothes out and folded when my phone rang. I answered the phone, and my husband wanted to know if he had accidentally dropped his wallet somewhere in the garage before he got in his car for work that morning.

Out I went to the garage but the battery wasn’t working in the opener so I had to come back into the house to find batteries which then brought me to finding a few living in the bottom of the pots and pans drawer (which of course meant taking all the pots and pans out and leaving them all over the floor because now I was in a hurry to get into the garage to see if my husband’s wallet was there, and, incidentally isn’t that where everyone keeps their spare batteries?).

After getting into the garage, and yes, his wallet was there, I called him back and then remembered that the recycling needed to be put out to the curb, so I started to do that when along came a distraught neighbor from up the street looking for her indoor cat that decided to bust out on its first outdoor adventure.

Needless to say, I was into full un-managed time, in other words, I did not have my shift together!

This all leads me to what this post is really about ~ we are now “in present time,” and this is the time to be present, awakening, aware, embracing your personal power, listening carefully to your inner voice (truth), after all, the great awakening is all in perfect timing!

When you are aware of managing your time, of being “in present time,” then you are awake, and, once you are awakened, you cannot go back to sleep.

So, consider the managed time to be conscious time and whatever falls outside of that, is un-managed unconscious time. The more you choose to be awake, the more time will be on your side.

Time is on your side now; you have the awareness to choose how you will respond if you will respond at all. Choosing to respond with kindness is always a good option, and of course, calling out what is invalid, or walking away, are also valid choices.

As you continue to awaken, you will recognize your gift of discernment, of knowing in your heart what is truth and what is not. Even if what you believed to be true yesterday is no longer true for you today, then be okay with releasing the old programming and paradigms, it’s time.

The present time is where your power lives ~ this is where the power to create is ignited.

Remember that the innermost essence of your Being is your Soul, and your Soul is the Spirit Of Unconditional Love.

“Once the Soul awakens, the search begins and you can never go back. From then on, you are inflamed with a special longing that will never again let you linger in the lowlands of complacency and partial fulfillment. The eternal makes you urgent. You are loath to let compromise or the threat of danger hold you back from striving toward the summit of fulfillment.” ~ John O’Donohue

“We are one blink of an eye away from being fully awake.” ~ Pema Chödrön

“We are very good at preparing to live, but not very good at living. We know how to sacrifice ten years for a diploma, and we are willing to work very hard to get a job, a car, a house, and so on. But we have difficulty remembering that we are alive in the present moment, the only moment there is for us to be alive.” ~ Thích Nhất Hạnh
